The Oat Stones Turn Again

The Oat Stones Turn Again4th November 2022

The Oat stones are brought back into working order.

The mill has an integrated oat milling system using two sets of stones. These stones will not have been used from at least 1989 when the last miller retired. Karen our miller and Steve the trainee millwright who attends the mill have been working on one of the set of stones so that they will turn again.

On Tuesday the stones turned again.

If you would like to learn more and see these stones turning book one of our tours. see Events for dates and how to book.
