• Cash received from Share Offer passes the minimum target requirement • Community Shares Booster Programme promises matching funding • Service Level Agreement with Breadshare nears completion

Cash received in respect of the share offer now sits at £47,700. With the Community Share Booster Programme pledging to match shares purchased we have a total of £95,400 against the minimum target required to make the project viable of £90,000. Chair of the Board Phil Healy said, "We always knew this was an ambitious target, but have been amazed at the response of the local community and wider heritage interest groups and we are delighted to have passed our minimum target requirement. The extension of the share offer enabled us to achieve this goal and take the project to the next stage of development."

Accordingly the Board have been in negotiation with our preferred site manager Breadshare to conclude the Service Level Agreement that will enable the procurement and purchase of bakery equipment and enable the project to move to the implementation stage. These negotiations should be concluded by the end of February and operating arrangements should be in place by early March. This should enable us to go into commercial production by late May / early June reflecting the extension period from the original timetable.

As the share offer is not yet fully subscribed shares remain available to be purchased so anyone interested in contributing to this exciting community venture, has not done so yet, or wishes to purchase additional shares is still able to do so.  Shares cost £100 each and multiple shares can be purchased through the website or by postal application.

Events planned during the implementation phase of the project include a volunteering afternoon on Sunday 29 March and an Open Day on Thursday 9 April. This will enable volunteers and the public to see for themselves the progress made in bringing this community venture to a reality. Further details will be available on our website shortly.
